The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is an Indian political party founded in 1980. It emerged from the political tradition of the Bharatiya Jana Sangh, which was established in 1951, and became a major force in Indian electoral politics. The BJP identifies Integral Humanism, developed by Deendayal Upadhyaya, as its foundational philosophy.
