The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) was founded in 1999 following a split in the Indian National Congress. The party has participated in national and state-level politics, with a significant political base in Maharashtra. Its political agenda has included agriculture, rural development, cooperative institutions, social welfare, secularism, and economic development. A split in 2023 led to separate factions operating under the NCP name and related party identities.
Secularism, social justice, democratic governance, agricultural interests, cooperative development, and social welfare.
