Barasat Lok Sabha Election Result 1998

Barasat Lok Sabha Constituency General Election 1998 Results: Dr Ranjit Kumar Panja of WBTC won with 4,99,181 votes, defeating Chitra Ghosh of FBL, who received 4,32,474 votes. Dr Ranjit Kumar Panja won by a margin of 66,707 votes, equivalent to 6.30% of the total votes polled. Total votes polled were 10,59,184.
