Nagapattinam (Sc) Lok Sabha Constituency General Election 1984 Results: Mahalingam, M. of ADK won with 3,00,912 votes, defeating Murugaiyan K. of CPI, who received 2,98,623 votes. Mahalingam, M. won by a margin of 2,289 votes, equivalent to 0.38% of the total votes polled. Total votes polled were 6,02,911.
