The Mizo National Front (MNF) traces its origins to the Mizo National Famine Front, formed during the 1959 famine in the Lushai Hills, and later developed into a political organisation. It became an important participant in Mizoram's political history and now operates as a regional political party within India's democratic system. Its agenda includes Mizo identity, regional development, public welfare, and the social and economic needs of Mizoram.
