The All Jharkhand Students Union (AJSU), also known as the AJSU Party, is a regional political party based in Jharkhand, India. Founded on 22 June 1986, it emerged during the movement for a separate Jharkhand state, bringing together students and youth advocating for regional identity and political self-determination. The organisation played a role in the Jharkhand statehood movement, which culminated in the formation of Jharkhand as a separate state in 2000. The party participates in state and national elections and focuses on regional development, employment, education, rural infrastructure, and the political representation of Jharkhand's diverse communities. Its political agenda also includes protecting indigenous rights, promoting local interests, and addressing the social and economic concerns of farmers, workers, and young people.
AJSU's political outlook centres on regionalism, Jharkhandi identity, social justice, and the protection of indigenous and tribal communities. It emphasises greater opportunities for local residents, preservation of the region's cultural heritage, and a stronger role for Jharkhand in decisions concerning its natural resources and economic development. The party has also advocated employment opportunities, rural development, and social and economic rights for historically underrepresented communities. Its political approach combines regional aspirations with participation in India's parliamentary and democratic system.
